How to Set a Stunning Holiday Table

How to Set a Stunning Holiday Table

This time of year is all about the leveled-up tablescape! We’re talking about your Christmas and New Years tables that bring the holiday magic into your home along with the people you love. It’s a festive time of year that is marked by families and friends gathering and sharing meals & good cheer around a beautifully set table.

We recently hosted a styled shoot that brought together some of our favorite and talented vendor partners. Megan of Flint and Pearl designed the stunning floral centerpieces. She took inspiration from whimsical and colorful interpretations of the holidays. Our preferred vendor for event rentals, Event Rents, provided the beautiful table settings from luxurious napkins to sparkling glassware. And finally, Ashley of Gather and Abide Photography captured it all flawlessly.

Keep scrolling to read our top 5 ways to ensure your holiday tablescape is merry and bright.

Luxurious Linens

The tablecloth and napkins are the canvas and foundation from which to build your tablescape and thus set the tone for your holiday table. Luxurious textures like velvet or satin instantly add a wintery and elevated mood. It’s sophisticated and feels extra special to have these luxurious fabrics at the table. On the other hand, a crisp white tablecloth will also do the job and have the feel of a 5-star dining experience that will make everyone feel fancy!

Cozy Candles

There’s no better way to add warmth to your table then to set the mood with a flickering flame. It instantly adds that cozy vibe but in an elevated way. Tapered candles are extra elegant, but tea lights and votives are simple and sweet, plus you can see the other guests across the table. We also love enclosing a candle in a lantern. It adds a warm glow and illumination that feels really special with a touch of romance.

Lush + Layered Florals

No tablescape is complete without a gorgeous centerpiece! And of course we’re all about the blooms. Lush, textural, layered…these elements are key in creating a floral design that feels “holiday” along with lavish. There are two color approaches: moody and rich colors have a winter and cozy feel (especially when incorporating berries or greenery with the jewel tones) OR soft, light colors create that classic, elegant, evening feel.

Gold Accents

Mixing metals is trending now, and gold is your ticket to ultimate holiday elegance. Gold accents work for Christmas and NYE by instantly adding that shimmer and shine that is merry and bright! You can incorporate gold in the flatware, chargers, or glassware detailing …. just a touch of gold goes a long way in the glam factor and will add that special something to your holiday table.

Sparkling Glassware

Speaking of shimmer and shine, last but not least on our list of ideas is stemmed glassware. Water goblets, wine glasses, and champagne flutes level-up a table to new heights. Glassware makes your table feel more formal, and this is definitely the feel you want for your holiday tablescape and this special occasion. These glasses not only add height to the table, but the dimension and sparkle is stunningly beautiful. Plus, it makes the Christmas or NYE toast possible and that’s what the holiday tablescape is ultimately all about – family and friends toasting, celebrating, and making memories.

So with that, CHEERS to a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We hope your holiday table is stunning, but most importantly, we hope it’s surrounded by those you love and care about.

Summer Love: Julia + Jack’s Wedding Gallery

Summer Love: Julia + Jack’s Wedding Gallery

Julia and Jack had the most beautiful summer wedding in July. It was over the 4th of July weekend, so the bright, sunny sunflowers and sparkler send-off were perfect! Ashley with Gather and Abide Photography captured their special day from a traditional ceremony at St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church to a stunning reception in our Great Hall.

The Bride’s light and airy gown was nothing short of gorgeous and perfectly complimented the summer soiree. Her bridesmaids adorned neutral blush gowns that were equally stunning. And each bridesmaid had the sweetest bouquet with bright sunflowers and white blooms.

Julia and Jack had the cutest bridal party! Talk about a hype team that brings all the love and excitement.

Moving on to the reception in the Great Hall, guests were greeted with a personalized welcome sign. The bride and groom utilized our mezzanine level for their cocktail hour, where guests could visit and share a drink while the happy couple took photos, Then, the newlyweds had a spectacular entrance down the grand staircase into the Great Hall for toasts, dinner and dessert. Wait until you see the dessert table!

The tablescapes were crisp white with eucalyptus accents both in the greenery and the napkins. It was utterly romantic and elevated with all the delicate florals and happy sunflowers. The sweetheart table was just that…sweet as can be with more white roses and sunflowers.

The dessert bar was EVERYTHING! A beautiful and elegant tiered wedding cake was the focal point, followed by mini white and pink macarons and then chocolate dipped macaroons, brought to you by Biscuit and Berries Catering.

After dessert and speeches, the couple made their way to the dance floor for their First Dance, followed by a night of dancing and fun.

We are so happy we got to be a part of Julia and Jack’s special day. So much love and happiness filled the room. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Tea for Two: Elegant English Tea Party Inspired Wedding Shoot

Tea for Two: Elegant English Tea Party Inspired Wedding Shoot

Thinking about having a tea party inspired wedding with all the enchanting and romantic touches? We have you covered with this pretty-in-pink wedding shoot! Captured by Camryn Schwab Photography and brought together creatively by wedding planner Veronica of We Vow Weddings, this shoot had all the delicate + dainty details of tea party meets secret garden.

Baby pink linens paired with gold accented in the cutlery, stemware, plates, and napkin rings provided an elevated look while still being sweet as can be. Event Rents provided these eye-catching pieces including these white-washed wooden cross-back chairs that were slightly rustic but also soft and romantic!

Nothing says romance more than a light pink garden rose, and this event had plenty! These gorgeous blooms alongside the delicate greenery was the perfect way to bring the feeling of a garden party into our Great Hall.

The wild flower tablescape with soft and whimsical texture was nothing short of ethereal thanks to talented florist Sky of RLY RLY. The team tried to bring the outdoors in to create that garden-inspired feel in our modern space and we loved how it turned out.

The paper goods and invitation suite by K Creative Co. was utterly romantic and elevated with all the delicate floral detailing and script. The stamped wax seal and powder blue ribbon were traditional touches that pulled the whole look together.

Now let’s talk about the most beautiful bride! This blush chiffon gown from Denver’s Luv Bridal with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a long, flowing train blew us away. Total Greek goddess vibes. We also love her delicate garland-like headband, too. It adds a bit of glam! And that bouquet….carefree, wild and gorgeous. The dainty ferns and pops of periwinkle blue are our favorite parts!

Such an adorable couple. This smitten pair had the sweetest love for one another! Marriage looks good on them.

Making things extra sweet and special was this white-chocolate covered strawberry “cake” from Surprising Hearts. It gave a unique and playful touch and was the perfect addition to the afternoon tea theme.

Finally the couple moved to the Drendel Gardens and posed with the perfect vintage furniture from Now and Forever. Our outdoor area right onsite was whimsical and lush, and it complimented the elegant English Tea Party inspo beautifully!

We are so happy we got to be a part of this stunningly gorgeous shoot that brought together talented vendors and created the Elegant English Tea Party Wedding of our dreams!

Our dream-team couple really shined bright during this shoot! Their fun and flirty demeanor was totally cotton-candy crush worthy.

Canvas Credit Union held an offsite meeting for director level employees and above earlier this month. The event was called “Brainfoods and Inputs” and was swirling with inspiration and conversation! The Imprint Group handed the corporate planning and execution of this event, and transformed our space into a comfortable vibe for attendees to brainstorm, converse, and present. One of the most unique aspects of the afternoon was an immersive chocolate tasting and sculpting by The Chocolate Genius. Check out the photos below and thank you to Canvas for choosing The Cable Center for your event!
